Things to Do

The 30A area is unique.  Scenic Highway (it’s not really a highway by any means) runs for approximately 24 miles, and only has two traffic lights, and if needed only two gas stations.  Not what you would often imagine a vacation destination to made up of.

There is an endless list of activities to keep you busy while in the 30A area.

First, to get the most of the 30A area you can download the 30A app on your phone.  This app has all you need to know about the area, and a calendar of events so you do not miss anything.

If you like activities on the water, you can learn to Stand Up Paddleboard.  Many local vendors offer rentals and lessons on how to do this, which is a popular 30A activity. (Yolo Boards is the original company in our area).

You can also learn to water ski or wake board at Pickos Ski and Wakeboard School.

If you are interested in exploring, there are the many dune lakes along 30A.  These lakes are a rare natural phenomena that only occur in a handful of areas in the world.  Rent a kayak, or paddleboard and explore these lakes.  You may also go on an eco-tour for a guided experience. Watch out for alligators (This is Florida).

If the beach is not for you, you can shop at the many boutique locations along 30A.  Also not far away is the Silver Sands Outlets in Destin, and in Panama City there is the Pier Park center.

Outdoor concerts and movies are available at many locations along 30A. See the 30A app for the schedule.

Live music is often available at several popular music venues along 30A.  Check the 30A app for the latest schedule.

If you are the artistic type, take classes with artists.  Artists of Gulf Place offer classes year round, including art with sea glass, tie dye, sand art. Check out 30a.com for schedules. The Shard Shop and Fired Up offer classes too.
